It is convenient to park such sedans and the power base engines in most cases is not ruinous in terms of vehicle tax. The principle is the same: we choose well known cars of respected brands, only this time the overall length is set at 4.2-4.3 meters.
Chevrolet Prisma
Handsome sedan, which is a three-volume version of the hatchback Chevrolet Onix, was developed and manufactured in Brazil, and is sold exclusively in South American countries. However, Prisma has a common platform with the Aveo model.
The difference is not only in the image, but also the fact that the Brazilian version is much smaller (which, incidentally, had practically no effect on the data trunk capacity) and lighter, so it is enough liter eight valve “quartet” that can run on gasoline or ethyl alcohol. Fiat Grand Siena
Current Fiat Grand Siena is produced also in Brazil, and Argentina. The same “truck”, incidentally, is the basis of Fiat Albea sedan but compared to him wheelbase is stretched considerably, and the overall length has increased to almost 4.3 meters, justifying the prefix Grand. Mitsubishi Attrage
We didn’t in vain mentioned the Mexican “Dodge“: in its model lineup with a model of the Vision, aka Grand Siena, adjoins another sedan, named Attitude. It is 4.5 centimeters shorter a higher base, slightly higher and narrower, but still is very close in many ways – why do we need such neighbors? The fact that the car has completely different origins: if Vision is the result of cooperation with the Americans, “Fiat”, which lasts a relatively short time, there is a much longer affair with Mitsubishi. And Dodge Attitude is Mitsubishi Attrage, three-volume version of the Mirage hatchback, is available in Thailand. Externally, the car – quite frankly is for an amateur, but its main advantage is different: the car is very light, which makes unnecessary the powerful engines. Attrage with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder passport a motor accelerates to 100 km / h in less than the 1.4-liter “Fiat”, and whose “horses” are more and more solid supply of traction. Other engines for the sedan is not provided, but there are two version of the pedal, and it is not equipped with a “robot” and not “automatic” and a stepless variator provides the best efficiency – at least in theory.
If you start from the same situation in Mexico, Attrage will be much cheaper than the Vision, which is approximately equivalent to Chevrolet Prisma. But the basic equipment is more attractive than both “classmates”: by default, are offered not only air-conditioning and electric front windows, but also folding rear armrest, and even the engine start button. And for the money needed to purchase the most affordable Vision, you can buy a complete set with rear power windows, upgraded décor and, of course, light-alloy wheels.
Toyota Etios
Another Japanese for “third countries” is very close to Attrage both in dimensions (base is at millimeter per millimeter), and the design, in which budget model is immediately guessed.
In the interior of the Toyota Etios is primarily allocated centrally located instrument cluster: not so long ago it was fashionable and promising, but now most manufacturers have refused such an extravagant solutions. The rest of the car has the image of a “workhorse” that highlights the huge amount of luggage (and not only in comparison with other participants in our review) and the fact that the Etios is the only one of our defendants, who does not have an alternative to the manual gearbox. But, like all my colleagues, it is an analogue of a five-door body: it is called Etios Liva, has a shorter base and is equipped with 1.2-liter engine. The sedan should either have a half liter petrol “four” or a 1.4-liter turbo diesel – the latter is placed on the cars produced in India, where the Etios was designed. In Brazil the same basic spec engine is adapted to run on ethanol. The quality of gas really matter?
In Brazil, localized Etios is more expensive than all the same local Chevrolet Prisma, compared to the initial configuration. For $ 5 500 in the database there are air conditioning, a full set of electric windows, two airbags and steel wheels.
