Fans of off-road driving are looking forward to the arrival of the Jeep Wrangler 2018, the fourth generation of the benchmark model. We still have to wait a few months for its arrival in the market, but in this downtime the firm wants to take the opportunity to launch the umpteenth special edition of the JK, the Jeep Wrangler Golden Eagle.
It could expect something like this from a vehicle that, since its arrival in the market in 2006, has sold no less than two million units worldwide (in Europe it was the entry of the four-door variant, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited). And, in the last five years the firm has launched no less than twelve special editions: Arctic (2012), Mountain (2012), Moab (2013), Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition (2013), Polar (2014), Rubicon X ( 2014), X Edition (2015), Black Edition (2015), Rubicon Sunriser (2015), Dark Side (2015), Backcountry (2015), 75th Anniversary (2016), Rubicon Recon (2017), Night Eagle (2017) and Willys Wheeler (2017).
The Jeep Wrangler Golden Eagle is inspired by the legendary CJ-7 Golden Eagle of the 70s and 80s (with an optional plastic roof in addition to the soft top). It has a body-color grille (like the wheel arches) with bronze-colored inserts, headlight frames in that color, 18-inch alloy wheels, Mopar lower side protections and fuel tank cap in black. The icing is put on a special sticker of an eagle on the hood with the inscription Golden Eagle printed on the side of the hood. It can be chosen in three colors: black, white or gray.
The interior features Golden Eagle logo seats and contrast bronze stitching, such as the front armrests, with front door armrests covered in McKinley vinyl and with modified handles. It also has a double roof, which includes both the rigid roof of the body color and the new premium soft top in black. The multimedia system with CD / DVD / MP3, on 6.5-inch screen, and the Alpine sound equipment complement the envelope. In Europe this version is sold exclusively with the engine 2.8 CRD of 200 HP if you choose it with the body of the three doors, linked to the automatic five-speed gearbox, always with all-wheel drive and reduction. The five-door Wrangler Unlimited can also be moved by the 3.6 V6 of 284 hp.
