Lexus GS Black Line Special Edition: farewell flavor for the Japanese sedan

30 Apr

The farewell to the Lexus GS has been silent and without great tributes. It has not been available for a long time in the configurator of the Japanese brand and most likely we will not see it again. It is a shame if we consider that it is one of the longest-running models of the brand with 27 years behind it, but it is also true that its sales have not been up to lately. Now Lexus GS Black Line Special Edition comes out to put the final farewell to the saloon.

This is a special edition for the United States, probably the market where this model worked best. Although the rise of SUVs and the decline of three-volume models have led to this model being withdrawn. So that it does not fall into oblivion, only 200 units will be made with a specific configuration that will begin to be delivered between the same summer. Let’s go over the details they introduce.

It must be said that the Lexus GS Black Line Special Edition already start from the F Sport equipment level, which aims to give a sportier touch to the saloon. It can be chosen with the Ultra White or Caviar body colors, while there will be some elements (such as the grill, the rear-view mirrors or the rear spoiler) in contrasting black. Gloss Black F Sport rims are the same shade, with orange brake calipers.

If we go inside, there is a black leather upholstery with red stitching in contrast. Of that color also go some accents on the door panels, the steering wheel and the center console. There are other materials that want to accentuate luxury and sportsmanship. Some carbon fiber moldings appear and some areas covered with Alcantara. Plus, this special edition comes with a custom, handmade two-piece luggage set: the Lexus Black Line Zero Halliburton.

These 200 units of Lexus GS Black Line Special Edition can only be purchased in the United States. For this reason, the mechanical range is different than in Europe, which is only available in hybrid format. They correspond to the GS 350, which has a 3.5-liter V6 engine and allows you to choose between propulsion or all-wheel drive.
