The first meeting with Range Rover Velar

This vehicle, unlike common very expensive supercars, for a wealthy audience, is of real practical interest.

Technically, it’s not even exactly Land Rover – it’s Jaguar F-Pace in a new guise. At the heart of it is the same iQ [Al] platform, the same wheelbase of 2,874 mm, the same suspension designs (two-lever front, multi-link rear) and … yes, a simplified four-wheel drive transmission without a downshift. Visually the Velar seems very large, and it really is longer than the Jaguar (due to overhangs) by 7 centimeters, but with a shorter Range Rover Sport by 4.7 centimeters. Logically, the “cubic” Velar should yield in terms of the aerodynamic properties of the F-Pace, but in fact its Cx is 0.32 against 0.34 for the group mate.

In favor of the Cx play door handles (they are as in the coupe), which appear, apparently, when the car is unlocked by the key. Another interesting feature is that there is no rear wiper at Velar – water and dirt at the speed must blow off the air flow passing through the spoiler. Interesting that in the photos Velar looks like a real concept car: with bold chopped lines, giant wheels … But in the salon is already really cozy. The concepts are not so cozy at all. And this is probably the most-most luxurious Land Rover in the opinion of many auto critics.

Nowadays expensive skin will not surprise anyone. But Velar was able to surprise, but not with a leather salon. In its interior there is  denim fabric, corrugated polymer upholstery, rough wood … The steering wheel can be suede at all!

Men, be careful! If your woman accidentally will sit in this car in a showroom and touch all this beauty – she will simply lose her head/

And you will have to spend unplanned a lot of money on a new Velar for her, otherwise her life will lose all meaning.

What are the Motors? Motors are different. There are absolutely boring 2-liter turbo diesel engines for 180 hp. Inexpensive, but from the outside it will look all the same pathetic, besides the expense is excellent. Gasoline “two liters” has 250 forces. The next in the hierarchy of the 240-strong turbodiesel will certainly go a little more fun, too, not forcing to ruin the content. Well and for uncompromising buyers will be V6 – 300-strong diesel and 380-strong petrol with the compressor.

The prices are also already known. They all starts with 68 000 $ and end at almost 126 000 $.
