Updated Nissan Patrol Nismo became more aggressive, but not more powerful, still exclusive

No, if you compare it with a standard frame all-terrain vehicle, then the “charged” version has a higher recoil, but it is the same as the pre-reform model performed by Nismo. But in terms of design, the cars are really differed from one another..

The Nissan Patrol SUV acquired the “hot” version of Nismo back in 2015, this version is intended only for the Middle East. The standard all-terrain vehicle underwent restyling in 2019, and now, finally, it’s the turn of the “charged” one. By the way, this all-terrain vehicle never became global: it was officially announced that after the modernization, Patrol Nismo will be a Middle Eastern exclusive.

The pre-reform ordinary and “hot” all-terrain vehicles externally, of course, differed from each other, but from afar they could still be confused. Now it will not work – in terms of exterior design, the Patrol Nismo has noticeably moved away. Let the headlights have switched from a standard SUV, but now the radiator grille with large cells, also the “charged” version got more aggressive bumpers, moreover, there are air ducts on the sides in the front, and a diffuser flaunts at the back, in the center of which a fog lamp is installed. In addition, the Patrol Nismo received 22-inch wheels, which are lighter than standard (“just” Patrol put 18- or 20-inches), there is also a large spoiler and, of course, branded red accents.

The interior is decorated with a “carbon look”, there are red inserts on the seats and doors, the seats themselves are upholstered in leather and Alcantara. The list of equipment also includes two screens (the upper one is responsible for multimedia and the navigator, the lower one is used to control other functions), adaptive cruise control, automatic braking systems (with a pedestrian detection function), collision avoidance, keeping in the lane, control of “blind” zones and automatic switching of headlights. The Nissan Patrol Nismo did not become more powerful after restyling – it is still available with a 5.6 V8 petrol engine, which produces 428 hp. instead of 400 hp from a standard SUV. The regular Patrol is still offered with a petrol V6 4.0 (275 hp), one box – a seven-speed “automatic”. The model has a plug-in four-wheel drive with a reduction gear. The Nismo feature is Bilstein shock absorbers and more heat-resistant brakes, and the ground clearance of this version is 260 mm versus 273-275 mm for the “simple” Patrol (depending on the wheels).

The Middle East is already taking orders for the updated hot SUV, with live sales starting in April. Patrol Nismo will cost at least $ 105,000, while a standard all-terrain vehicle with a 400-horsepower V8 in the top-end configuration in the UAE, for example, costs somewhere from $ 90,000
