Which car brands best meet the owner’s satisfaction?

11 Jan

If we could make a wish for 2018, feasible and in which could participate, without a doubt that would be that everyone would find the perfect car. We know that choosing a new car is an arduous task and that sometimes it can result, if you are not passionate, even tedious. You have to analyze prices (take a look at our reports, they will help you), and compare the technical characteristics and equipment of the vehicles that meet your requirements and budget.

In addition to all this data collection, it never hurts to try the car to see all the details in the first person. A demanding buyer will also take into account the reliability of a model and even the satisfaction of its owner. And how is the latter measured? Well, for now, only through surveys. And, undoubtedly, one of the most complete in this regard is that of Consumer Reports.
This prestigious publication collects data every year on more than half a million vehicles. They ask buyers questions to find out which brands best meet their needs and make them happy. Satisfaction is analyzed after three years with the car. The subscribers answer a simple question: if you had to do it again, would you buy the same model? In addition, the respondents, who have had their cars for three years, rate their vehicles in six categories: driving experience, comfort, value, style, air conditioning and infotainment systems. These data are then combined with the ratings that Consumer Reports obtains in their car tests and have given these results:

NOTE: There are not enough data to assess Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jaguar, Land Rover, Maserati and Smart.
What do we observe? Well, there are no changes in the previous positions and Tesla and Porsche occupy the first two places in the list of brands classified by the average satisfaction scores of the owner of their models. Among the most up (and sold in Europe) are Kia and MINI. Also stand out in convincing their owners are Japanese brands such as Mazda, Subaru, Toyota and Honda, all in the top positions, so well Audi is ahead. We are very struck by the falls of Hyundai and Lexus and how well Genesis (Hyundai’s luxury spinoff) is working, since from Consumer Reports they emphasize that it is the only brand to obtain a maximum rating in all fields.
