You have to pay attention to the prototypes that car manufacturers are presenting. They always represent some kind of advance in terms of design or at a technical level, and some of these advances move to production models in consecutive years. That is precisely what is going to happen with the Hyundai Prophecy Concept, which is likely to hit the market without too many changes. In fact, there is already talk that it could be the next generation of the Hyundai Ioniq.

It is not very clear whether the name will be changed or maintained, but what seems certain is that this prototype will serve as inspiration for a production model. It will be after the arrival of other copies, the Hyundai 45 Concept, a crossover with a retro look that also appeared in the form of a prototype and was well received by the public. If it could appear later this year, Prophecy is not expected until next 2021.

Recently confirmed in an interview, SangYup Lee, vice president and chief designer of the Korean brand. He said that the Prophecy is inspired by the 1930s and that it will be an unconventional sedan, maintaining advantages as a generous interior space. To achieve this, the new global electric platform (E-GMP) will be used, which will be the same used by the future Hyundai 45. Due to its short overhangs and its battle, it helps habitability and is able to adapt to needs.

The manager also mentioned that they would not carry out the “Russian doll” strategy seen in other manufacturers, that in Hyundai each vehicle will have its own personality but that they will form a great team. He came to compare it to a chess board, in which each piece fulfills a different role but all collaborate to win. He also commented on some common design details, such as the light signature with those pixels that we have seen in the prototypes.
